Pupil Premium and Catch-up Premium

Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium is an allocation of additional funding provided to schools to support specific groups of children who are vulnerable to possible underachievement.  These include pupils who are entitled to free school meals, those looked after by the local authority and the children of armed service personnel.

All schools are required to report on the amount of funding received, how this is being used and what the impact is.

The downloads below contain details of how the money is spent at Mousehole and the progress of the children eligible for Pupil Premium.

Pupil Premium funding is a crucial part of our funding each year and work hard to ensure it has a positive impact on the children who it is intended for. We would encourage anyone who believes they may be eligible to apply. If you believe you may be eligible for free school meals (even if you do not want your child to eat school meals) please speak to Mrs Bond in the office or follow the link below.

Catch-up Premium

In June 2020 the government announced announced a package of financial support intended to help young people to catch up on missed learning caused by coronavirus (COVID19). Below you will find details of our Catch-up Premium allocation and how we intended to use it at the during the academic year 2020. You may notice that our intended spend was greater than the funding we received. This is, in part, because we topped up the funding with our Pupil Premium funding. As the Department ofor Education was right to point out this funding was especially important for the most vulnerable pupils and pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds who we know have been most affected.

Please note that our plans for using Catch-up Premium funds for the academic year 2021-2022 are include in our Pupil Premium strategy (see above) as there is considerable overlap between the two.
